Short, because the product should be too.
Groundtruth checks recruiter outreach against verifiable, independent facts: whether the sender's domain matches the company it claims, whether the company has a public footprint, what the message asks you to do, and whether an attached document shows signs of manipulation. It reports evidence. It does not, and cannot, prove that a job or a person is real.
Nothing on this page is a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney, your school's international student office, or a financial professional. Where a finding recommends speaking to one of these before acting, that is not a formality — do it. Decisions about signing, paying, or sending documents are yours, made with information this tool contributes to, not information it substitutes for.
Every check here distinguishes three outcomes: it passed, it failed, or it did not run — and the tool says which, rather than treating a check that never ran as a clean result. Still, a "nothing alarming found" verdict reflects what was checkable at the time, not a certification that an opportunity is legitimate. Absence of a red flag is not proof of safety.
Some checks depend on third-party services (employer search, careers-
page rendering) and are unavailable when those services are unreachable
or unconfigured. The tool reports this honestly rather than silently
returning a clean result — see /api/health. Availability is
provided as-is, without an uptime guarantee, for the free public
deployment.
A university, career center, or immigration-services office deploying this for its students operates under a separate written agreement that may set usage volume, support terms, and branding — contact the project directly. These general terms still govern the underlying tool absent something more specific in that agreement.
These terms may be updated as the product changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the current version.
